This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Robert Wertz who was born in Illinois on June 24, 1989 and passed away on May 18, 2007 at the age of 17. We will remember him forever.

As a Mother you never imagine the loss of a child..your child...and your heart aches whenever you hear of this happening...but when it's your life..your reality...it is impossible to explain..

Rob was a wonderful, happy, beautiful young man...He was completing his high school years and headed to a future filled with promise and success..no matter what he choose to do...This is how I saw him...how everyone saw him...but it seems this is not how Rob saw himself...and this breaks my heart...

Robert was born at 11:23 am ...he was 7lb 14oz ad 21 in long...he was welcomed with open loving arms....and life begins...Pat followed a year later and the two of them were like twins...brothers as brothers are...but friends too...

These two grew up in a small community were we all knew eachother..They participated, and competed against eachother, in sports year round...They had family, friends, ups and down...but life was fairly ordinary...life was full...and life was moving forward as it should...

Rob died 5 weeks shy of his 18th birthday...a milestone for many...but he lives each day in my heart and in the hearts of many..His death touched not just our family, but a community...and we are all still healing..

As I sit ,3 years after Rob's death, and try and put words on paper..I can only leave you with this..

Love your children every day ..hug them, kiss them, be there as much as possible...and appreciate each moment...it may have to last you a long time...
